To be specific, this applies to:
- Slovak citizens living abroad who do not have a residency in Slovakia and therefore do not have an identity card,
- foreign citizens who do not have a residency in Slovakia and therefore do not have a residence document/permit.
• Lawyers, visiting European lawyers, and established European lawyers who do not hold an official authenticator (i.e., an ID card with a chip or a residence permit with a chip).
Applicants must apply in person at a police station (list of officesOpens in a new window)
• Slovak citizens - at any of the 9 document departments in regional capitals of the Slovak Republic
• Foreigners - must apply for issuance at one of the 12 departments of the Foreign police
The statutory representative needs to present the following documents:
• valid identity document (passport or foreign identity card)
• and the company identification number (IČO).
The employee will verify the accuracy of the data and, if correct, ask the statutory representative to create a personal security code (BOK) and provide contact details.
The card with the alternative authenticator is sent to the applicant's contact address. If the applicant does not collect it, it will be returned to the office where the statutory representative requested its issuance, and it can be collected there.
