Ending registration at the labour office

If you are registered at the labour office as a jobseeker, your registration may end for various reasons. Some occur automatically, others are decided by the labour office, and in some cases you can also apply for removal yourself.

Guide to ending registration at the labour office

  1. 1

The labour office will remove you from the register on the day you:

    • start a job or start a business,
    • resume suspended business activity,
    • start full-time study,
    • start serving a prison sentence or are taken into custody,
    • start receiving an old-age pension or reach retirement age (if you receive a disability pension),
    • have a child born who is living,
    • leave for another EU country for more than 15 days (if you are not looking for work there or receiving treatment),
    • start working abroad,
    • conclude an agreement for work outside an employment relationship or start another gainful activity,
    • have your employment relationship finally restored by a court,
    • are found to have provided false information in your application,
    • stop meeting the registration conditions (for example you exceed 40 days of work under an agreement or the subsistence minimum amount),
    • lose asylum, subsidiary protection, or residence status (if you are a third-country national or a family member of an EU citizen),
    • lose your Blue Card,
    • receive a work permit abroad,
    • die.

You need to report these facts to the office in time and support them with documents – an employment contract, trade licence, confirmation of enrolment in studies, etc.

  2. 2

The labour office will also remove you from the register if you do not cooperate.

Non-cooperation is considered to include, for example, if you:

    • refuse a suitable job offer without a serious reason,
    • refuse to participate in the office’s employment support activities,
    • prematurely end participation in these activities without a serious reason,
    • fail to prove active job searching,
    • fail to attend an agreed meeting,
    • fail to submit the required documents on time,
    • breach the treatment regime during temporary incapacity for work (sick leave),
    • fail to fulfil other obligations under the law,
    • perform illegal work.
  3. 3

If you no longer want to be registered as a jobseeker, you can apply for removal yourself.
